Parents often ask, “What kind of music can you teach my baby?” Our answer is, “We do not ‘teach’ your baby music, but rather use music to help your baby develop and be nurtured to the BEST of their abilities!” Babies instinctively react to music! Our Infant classes are filled with playful musical activities that encourage the baby and parent/caregiver to bond. By incorporating floor and lap activities, action songs, rhymes, lullabies and dances, our classes help develop listening and motor skills, enhance language development and sense of balance and timing. Our classes increase a child’s natural curiosity about music, and provide a model for the parent to help the baby understand the importance of musical play in daily life. These classes are held weekly for 45 minutes with parent/caregiver present.
Is there anything more rewarding than watching the expression of wonder and discovery on a Toddler’s face? Toddlers learn through sound exploration and movement in our classes. Through delightful songs, dances and musical activities that focus on singing and keeping a beat, our classes are assist language and memory development, improve coordination and timing, help Toddlers express their feelings productively, discover their budding imagination, and develop the ability to focus. These classes are held weekly for 45 minutes with parent/caregiver present.

Preschoolers are ready and able to explore a new level of musical learning, but are often not quite ready to leave behind their parent or caregiver. This class is a perfect win-win schedule for your Preschooler. Caregivers join us for the first 5 minutes of each class. During this time we will explore creative movement, rhythm and dance activities. Caregivers are then excused for the remaining 30 minutes of our class. The portion of the class without caregivers is our time to embrace ourselves as active, energetic, enthusiastic and imaginative Preschoolers! We will experience socialization, sharing and participating in group activities. Singing will become a focus for enhancing the Preschooler’s vocal development, as their expressive language is just beginning to emerge. Musical pretend play activities integrated with music, storytelling, movement and literature will encourage cognitive and literacy skills, creativity and individuality as well as musical readiness. These classes are held weekly for 45 minutes with parent/caregiver present during the first 5 minutes of each class.

The Autism and Special Needs (ASN) Music and Movement classes at Milestones In Music support therapies the autistic and special needs children may be receiving elsewhere. ASN combines a structured program of movement and music, connecting the left and right hemispheres of the brain for a “whole brain” cognitive re-mapping approach that significantly increases concentration, focus and social interaction in the child.
ASN is a natural strategy for autistic individuals with limited speech and language communication skills, allowing them to express themselves through music and dance while simultaneously experiencing the thrill and joy of moving their bodies and developing a sense of self-determination and independence. These classes are held weekly for 45 minutes with parent/caregiver present.
